US Modular is ready to launch an ultra-stylish range of mini hard disk drives. The Monstor Drive is a USB hard disk drive (HDD) that costs about the same as a 512MB flash drive but weighs only 16g. It fits in the palm of your hand, but packs enough memory to store more than 600 MP3 songs, over 350 photos or about 30 minutes of MP4 video.The drive is available with a capacity of 2GB, 4GB and 6GB. It promises fast, reliable, cost-effective storage for any device with a USB port. The Monstor Drive supports Windows and Macintosh, and no drivers are required.
Other features of the Monstor Drive include low power consumption, 1500G shock resistance rating, rotational speed of 4200rpm, meedia transfer rate of 52.4 to 99.6Mbit/s and a data transfer rate of 3.3 to 6.5MB/s. It also sports an average seek time of 10ms. The stainless steel drives will begin shipping in December priced from $99 to $399.
